Quality Control Action Plan – Comprehensive onsite inspection and analysis of the compressive strength results from tests performed on concrete cores and cylinders

SIMCO was called in to analyze the compressive strength results obtained on cores extracted from concrete bases of Le Plateau wind farm, located in L’Ascension-de-Patapedia. Low compressive strength results were obtained, suggesting a quality problem with the concrete used in the construction of the tower foundations.

SIMCO conducted a comprehensive onsite inspection and analyzed the compressive strength results from tests performed on concrete cores and cylinders. The analyses performed revealed the probable causes of the quality control issues of the concrete cast in place. SIMCO, in collaboration with Genivar, developed an effective action plan to correct the quality problems identified in order to prevent any further occurrence.
