STADIUM® New Construction

STADIUM New Construction

The STADIUM New Construction software package helps SIMCO’s concrete experts to select concrete mixtures for new structural elements placed in specific locations and aggressive environments in order to assess their long-term durability. The mixtures from SIMCO’s database were all tested using the methods found in the STADIUM® LAB package. The mixtures are assigned to specific structural elements and placed in chemically aggressive environments (e.g. seawater, deicer salt applications, and sulfate exposure).

Once simulations are completed, it is possible to assess the performance of different mixtures by looking at key durability indicators such as corrosion initiation, contaminant depth (e.g. sulfate), and degradation depth. It is also possible to compare different maintenance scenarios involving sealer and membranes repeated applications and how they affect contaminant ingress over time, compared to associated costs. The package incorporates statistical analysis to account for mixture variability and allows to determine critical values of concrete properties to reach preset service-life duration targets.
